Email Trouble Shooting

*Make sure your user name and password is all lowercase.
*Make sure you have created the email address in your control panel.
*Change the user name to the full email address. Example: username@domainname.com

Still not working?

*Change your incoming and outgoing mail servers from mail.yourdomain.com to the ip address listed in your welcome email.

Are you able to receive emails but not send?

If you can receive mail but aren't able to send this means one thing...
Your internet provider is blocking you from using anyone's outgoing mail servers but their own. Many major ISP's are blocking outgoing emails. The reason they do this is to prevent you from using their internet connection for spamming purposes. You will still be able to send emails, but only by using your ISP'S outgoing mail server. Every ISP's outgoing mail address is different, but for the most part they will be mail.yourispname.com For example, if you had hosting with AOL.com, their outgoing mail server would look like this: mail.aol.com If mail.yourisp.com does not work and you are still unable to send emails, you will need to call your internet service provider to find out what their outgoing mail server is.

Configuring your website - WS FTP

• Enter your website name or company name (eg. My Site) in the new site profile text box.
  
• Enter your website url (eg. www.yourdomainname.com) in the Host/Address text box.
  
• For the Host Type field, leave the selection as "Auto Detect".
  
• Enter your username (the same username you have for your hosting account with us) in the username text box.
  
• Enter your password (the same password you have for your hosting account with us) in the password text box.
  
• Check the "Save password" box.
  
• Click "Apply" then "OK".

• Once you are connected to the server, you will be able to see two windows. The right window shows all the content on the server and the left window shows
• all the content on your computer.
• Select the drive and folder of the files you wish to transfer on the left window.
• When the files are displayed, just select a file and then click the right arrow (present in the middle) to transfer the file. Thats it!
• If you wish to transer files from the server to your computer, just go the folder where your files are present, select the file and
click on the left arrow (present in the middle). Before you do this, make sure that you are transfering the file to the right folder on your computer.
• When you transfer files to the server (for your website), make sure that you transfer all your files to the public_html folder in the server.
• You can also create folders, delete folders, delete files etc. on the server with WS FTP.

DNS

This tutorial will help you change your DNS with your registrar.

• First Log in to your account at your Domain Regitrar's website. (eg. www.networksolutions.com)
• Select the domain name, the one that needs the DNS changed.
• Once you select the domain name, you should be able to see a link that says "Manage DNS" or Edit DNS".
• Click that link and now you should be able to see two or four text boxes. (The DNS will look like this...ns1.websitename.com & ns2.websitename.com) That is where you will enter your new DNS.
• You just need to fill up the first two text boxes. Your DNS would have been sent to you in your welcome e-mail.
• Enter your new DNS information in the first two text boxes and confirm your entry on the page.
• It will take approximately 24-48 hours for a domain to fully propagate.
